Hi! We're Lorraine, Kevin, and our son Michael, the family behind The Funk's Bakery.

Our journey started with a simple dream: to bring people the kind of baked goods that remind them of home. The smell of fresh bread filling the kitchen, warm cookies straight from the oven, and the joy of gathering around the table with the people you love inspired us to turn our passion into a family business.

 

I'm Lorraine, and I'm the cookie maker behind every batch that leaves our bakery. Baking has always been more than a hobby for me—it's my creative outlet and my way of showing love. Every cookie is mixed from scratch using quality ingredients, carefully weighed into our signature oversized 5-ounce cookies, and baked to achieve that perfect balance of crispy edges and soft, gooey centers. Seeing customers take that first bite and smile is what makes every early morning and late night worth it.

 

My fiancé, Kevin, is the sourdough baker. He has fallen in love with the art and patience that sourdough requires. From nurturing our sourdough starter to carefully shaping each loaf and allowing it to ferment naturally, Kevin puts his heart into every loaf he bakes. His goal is simple: create rustic, flavorful sourdough with a beautiful crust and a soft, airy interior that families can enjoy around their own dinner tables.

 

Then there's our biggest supporter—our son, Michael. He's our official taste tester and our biggest fan. Whether he's sneaking a warm cookie from the cooling rack or asking when the next loaf of sourdough is coming out of the oven, Michael reminds us why we started this journey in the first place. He keeps us smiling, inspires new ideas, and reminds us that the best memories are often made over fresh baked treats.

 

What makes The Funk's Bakery different is that we're not a large commercial bakery. Every loaf of bread and every cookie is handcrafted by our family. We believe in taking our time, never cutting corners, and baking with the same care we'd use if we were making treats for our own family—because in many ways, that's exactly what we're doing.
